About Karl
Karl is an experienced Key Account Manager with over a decade of expertise in customer service, account management, and team leadership within the telecommunications and financial services sectors.
Currently working as a Key Account Manager at Connection Technologies Ltd, Karl is responsible for managing and developing strategic client relationships, ensuring high levels of service delivery and long-term customer satisfaction.
Prior to this, Karl spent nearly 10 years at Onecom, where he progressed through multiple roles, demonstrating consistent growth and leadership. Starting as a Customer Service Representative, he developed a strong foundation in customer support and relationship management before moving into Account Management, where he managed large corporate mobile fleets of 100+ connections. His responsibilities included overseeing orders, conducting billing reviews, resolving technical issues, and providing end-to-end account support.
Karl later advanced to Enterprise Customer Service Manager, where he led a team of 11 account managers, focusing on performance management, service quality, and team development. In this role, he also worked closely with partners and suppliers, strengthening relationships both internally and externally to enhance service delivery. More recently, he took on the role of Bid Administrator, further broadening his commercial and operational experience.
Earlier in his career, Karl gained valuable experience in customer-facing roles at organisations including Lloyds Banking Group, Moneybarn, and Rock Up Ltd, where he developed strong communication skills, handled sensitive customer situations, and built a solid understanding of customer needs across different industries.
Karl is known for his strong relationship-building skills, operational expertise, and ability to lead teams while maintaining a customer-first approach.
Areas of expertise
Editorial focus
On the Connection Technologies blog, Karl publishes long-form guides aimed at decision-makers in finance, IT and operations roles inside UK small and mid-sized businesses. Coverage spans business mobile networks (EE, O2, Vodafone, Three and the major MVNOs), hosted VoIP and SIP trunking, business broadband and SoGEA, Microsoft 365 and managed IT support, the Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus frameworks, and the UK B2B energy market — including fixed and pass-through tariffs, broker selection, and procurement timing.
Every guide is checked against current provider pricing, network coverage data and regulatory documentation before publication. Articles are updated when material changes happen — Ofcom rule revisions, mobile network mergers, the ongoing PSTN switch-off, or significant supplier price moves. The aim is straightforward: give buyers the same information their procurement team would surface after a week of supplier meetings, written for people who need to make a decision rather than read a sales pitch.
How to work with Connection Technologies
Karl is part of the team at Connection Technologies, an independent UK telecoms and IT brokerage. The business compares contracts across every major network and provider on the buyer's behalf, negotiates pricing, and project-manages installations so SMEs aren't left juggling four suppliers at once. If a guide on this site is relevant to a problem you're trying to solve, the quickest route to a tailored quote is to contact the team directly.
