MikroTik routers: logins, addresses and status lights
MikroTik makes RouterBOARD and hAP hardware running RouterOS. Its manuals are on help.mikrotik.com and manual.mikrotik.com, and the thing to know before reading them is that the boilerplate about a blank default password is older than most of the hardware still in service.
Every MikroTik router here uses the same settings address: 192.168.88.1.
The login works differently across the range — there is no single answer for MikroTik, which is why each model has its own page.
Every MikroTik model we cover
| Model | Settings address | How the login works | Recoverable? |
|---|---|---|---|
| MikroTik hAP ax3 | 192.168.88.1 | Unique password on the device label | Not verified |
| MikroTik RB5009 | 192.168.88.1 | Documented default — check the label too | Not verified |
