NOW Hub Two — login, gateway address and status lights

Open a browser on a device connected to your NOW Hub Two and go to 192.168.0.1.

The documented default login is admin with the password nowtv.

Before you reset anything: a lost admin password on this model cannot be recovered. A factory reset is the only way back in and it erases the entire configuration.

The NOW Hub Two is a broadband hub supplied by an internet provider from NOW Broadband, in UK use 2017 (NR801); unsupported since 2025. This page covers the four things people actually come looking for: its settings address, how its login works, what its lights mean and how to reset it safely.

What is the NOW Hub Two gateway address?

The NOW Hub Two settings page is at 192.168.0.1. Type that into the address bar of a browser — not into a search box, which will just search for the number instead of opening the page.

Your device has to be connected to the NOW Hub Two itself for this to work — over its Wi-Fi or by cable. On mobile data, or connected to a different network, the address goes nowhere.

NOW gives this on a page naming the Hub Two directly, and again in its own setup guide for the model.

What is the default username and password for the NOW Hub Two?

Documented fixed default

The manufacturer publishes a single default login for the NOW Hub Two, so we can show it:

Username
admin
Password
nowtv

NOW publishes a genuine shared default for this hub on four separate pages, and stresses that it must be entered in lower case. This is not the Wi-Fi password: that one is specific to your unit and printed on the back or bottom of the hub and on the Connect card. There is an important security dimension here that NOW itself raises — it advises changing the administrator password precisely because the hub no longer receives security updates, and warns that even then your network and devices remain vulnerable.

This only works if nobody has changed it. On a unit that has been in service for a while, someone should have, and if they did then no published default will help you.

What do the lights on the NOW Hub Two mean?

Here is what each light on the NOW Hub Two is telling you, and what to do about it.

LightWhat it meansWhat to do
Powersolid greenNOW documents three lights — power, internet and wireless — and says all three should be solid green when the hub is working properly.Nothing to do.
Powerflashing amberA factory reset is in progress.Do not unplug the hub. It returns to solid green when finished.
Internetsolid greenThe hub is online.Nothing to do.
InternetamberNOW says an amber internet light can point to a problem at your local exchange or an issue with your NOW account.Check for an overdue payment, then restart the hub.
InternetoffNo internet light at all.Move the hub closer to the master socket, remove any extension cable, move other wireless devices away and restart for two minutes.
Wirelesssolid greenWi-Fi is on and working.Nothing to do.
WPSflashing amberWPS pairing is in progress.Press WPS on the device you are pairing.
WPSsolid greenThe WPS connection succeeded. It stays green then turns off after two minutes.Nothing to do.
WPSflashing redThe WPS attempt failed, or the hub could not find your device. It may also turn solid amber.Try again, or connect using the Wi-Fi password instead.

NOW does not publish a full colour-by-colour table for this hub. What it does publish is that all three lights should be solid green when everything is working, that any solid or flashing amber means something to investigate, and the specific WPS behaviours above. The rows here are what NOW documents, not a complete matrix.

How do you reset a NOW Hub Two?

What you lose. Undoes every change made in the hub settings, including your Wi-Fi password, which reverts to the printed value. The admin password returns to the documented default.

  1. Press and hold the reset button on the back of the hub. No pin is needed.
  2. Hold it for About 10 seconds, until the power light begins to flash amber.
  3. Release, and give the unit a few minutes to restart before trying to connect.

NOW documents the light sequence: the power light flashes amber during the reset and returns to solid green when it has finished. Do not unplug the hub while it is resetting.

A reboot is not a reset. A power cycle keeps your settings. NOW's troubleshooting asks for a restart of about two minutes off before switching back on.

What if you cannot get into the NOW Hub Two at all?

A lost password cannot be recovered on this model. There is no backdoor, no master password and no way for the manufacturer to retrieve it.

NOW states that if the login details do not work you will need to reset the hub. No override is published.

That leaves two options, in this order: find whoever set the unit up and ask them, or factory reset it and rebuild the configuration from scratch. Restoring a configuration backup does not help, because the backup contains the same password you do not know.
