What happens if a device is lost or stolen?

If a business device is lost or stolen, MDM allows you to take immediate action to protect your company data:

Immediate steps:

  • Remote lock — instantly lock the device with a PIN so nobody can access it
  • Remote wipe — erase all business data from the device
  • Locate — track the device location on a map (if location services are enabled)
  • Disable — permanently disable the device so it cannot be reactivated

What happens to personal data?
If the device is a BYOD (personal device), MDM can selectively wipe only the business container, leaving personal photos, apps, and data untouched.
