How to Set Up Call Forwarding on Android
Android phones let you set up call forwarding directly from the Phone app — no star codes required. The exact menu path varies slightly between manufacturers, so this guide covers both Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices as well as the universal star code method.
Call Forwarding on Samsung Galaxy
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap the three-dot menu (top right) and select Settings.
- Tap Supplementary services (you may need to select your SIM first on dual-SIM models).
- Tap Call forwarding.
- Choose the type: Always forward, Forward when busy, Forward when unanswered, or Forward when unreachable.
- Enter the destination phone number and tap Enable or Turn on.
Call Forwarding on Google Pixel
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap the three-dot menu and select Settings.
- Tap Calling accounts, then select your SIM.
- Tap Call forwarding.
- Select the forwarding type and enter the destination number.
- Tap Turn on.
Other Android Manufacturers
On most other Android phones (Xiaomi, OnePlus, Motorola, Sony), the path is similar:
Phone app > Settings > Call Settings > Call Forwarding
If you cannot find the option in your phone's menus, use the universal star code method below — it works on every Android device regardless of manufacturer.
Using Star Codes on Android
Star codes are the most reliable method and work on every Android phone:
- Open the Phone app and go to the Keypad.
- Dial the code — for example,
**21*07700900123#to forward all calls. - Tap the call button. A confirmation message will appear.
See our Call Divert Codes guide for every activation and cancellation code.
Troubleshooting
- Option greyed out: Ensure you have mobile signal. Call forwarding settings require a network connection to activate.
- Dual SIM confusion: Make sure you are configuring forwarding for the correct SIM slot.
- Settings not saving: Restart your phone and try again. If the issue persists, use star codes from the keypad instead.
