The Teltonika RUT240 is a 4G/5G router from Teltonika, in UK use 2014-2023 (end of life). This page covers the four things people actually come looking for: its settings address, how its login works, what its lights mean and how to reset it safely.
What is the Teltonika RUT240 gateway address?
The Teltonika RUT240 settings page is at 192.168.1.1. Type that into the address bar of a browser — not into a search box, which will just search for the number instead of opening the page.
Your device has to be connected to the Teltonika RUT240 itself for this to work — over its Wi-Fi or by cable. On mobile data, or connected to a different network, the address goes nowhere.
Teltonika documents this as the default LAN address, and it is also the fixed address in bootloader recovery mode: "regardless of what the router's IP address was before, the IP address of the router when it's in the bootloader menu state is always 192.168.1.1." That makes it useful even on a unit whose LAN has been changed, because the bootloader always answers there.
What is the default username and password for the Teltonika RUT240?

There is no single default for the Teltonika RUT240. It depends on how old the unit is, so work through these in order — the manufacturer documents all of them.
Batch 115 and later(Current units)

Which answer applies depends on how old your unit is, and Teltonika publishes the cut-over precisely: "for RUT240 devices, batch from when unique passwords are used is 115." Whichever applies, first login forces a change before you can do anything — Teltonika requires at least eight characters with an upper case letter, a lower case letter and a digit, and states that "this step is mandatory and you will not be able to interact with the router's WebUI before you change the password".
What do the lights on the Teltonika RUT240 mean?
Here is what each light on the Teltonika RUT240 is telling you, and what to do about it.

How do you reset a Teltonika RUT240?
What you lose. All custom configuration is deleted, with one documented exception that matters on a remote site: Teltonika states that "SIM PIN on the main SIM card is the only user parameter that is kept after a factory reset". So if a wrong SIM PIN is your problem, resetting will not clear it.
- The reset button has two graduated behaviours, and the signal strength lights work as a stopwatch while you hold it — each lit light means another two seconds have passed, so all five lit means ten seconds. Hold up to 4 seconds and the device reboots, which starts with all five signal lights flashing together with the green connection light. Hold at least 12 seconds and it performs a factory reset. There is a separate bootloader route for a unit that will not come up at all: unplug everything, connect one Ethernet cable to a LAN port, hold reset, apply power, hold four seconds more, then release — all the panel lights come on, and you can upload firmware at 192.168.1.1/index.html or reach the bootloader at 192.168.1.1/uboot.html.
- Hold it for Up to 4 seconds reboots it. 12 to 20 seconds is a factory reset. Past 20 seconds, nothing happens at all..
- Release, and give the unit a few minutes to restart before trying to connect.
Teltonika's own two pages disagree here. Its lights page says six seconds is enough for a factory reset on a device with no stored user default configuration, while its recovery page gives a minimum of twelve. We publish 12 to 20 seconds because the recovery page is the reset-specific one, it gives the configurable window that matches the setting in the web interface, and twelve seconds triggers a factory reset under both descriptions where six might only reboot.
A reboot is not a reset. A press of up to four seconds reboots the router and keeps every setting. You will see all five signal lights flash together with the green connection light as it starts.
What if you cannot get into the Teltonika RUT240 at all?
Yes. The label password is the factory default, so it is what the device returns to after a reset and the sticker stays valid — Teltonika frames its recovery page around exactly that: "using recovery methods resets the device's configuration to its default state. Therefore, you will need to use the default authentication info in order to login to the device." If the router is still unreachable after a factory reset, the bootloader menu at 192.168.1.1 lets you reflash the firmware or the bootloader over HTTP. Beyond that it is a return to the supplier.
If that does not work, a factory reset will always get you in, at the cost of every setting on the unit.
