Vodafone Ultra Hub — login, gateway address and status lights

Open a browser on a device connected to your Vodafone Ultra Hub and go to 192.168.1.1, or vodafone.connect.

The password is unique to your unit and printed on it — there is no universal default.

Before you reset anything: a lost admin password on this model cannot be recovered. A factory reset is the only way back in and it erases the entire configuration.

The Vodafone Ultra Hub is a broadband hub supplied by an internet provider from Vodafone, in UK use 2022-present, on Pro II and Pro 2. This page covers the four things people actually come looking for: its settings address, how its login works, what its lights mean and how to reset it safely.

What is the Vodafone Ultra Hub gateway address?

The Vodafone Ultra Hub settings page is at 192.168.1.1. Type that into the address bar of a browser — not into a search box, which will just search for the number instead of opening the page.

You can also use vodafone.connect, which reaches the same page and is easier to remember.

Your device has to be connected to the Vodafone Ultra Hub itself for this to work — over its Wi-Fi or by cable. On mobile data, or connected to a different network, the address goes nowhere.

Vodafone gives the address under a heading naming the Ultra Hub. The vodafone.connect hostname appears on Vodafone router guides that do not name this model specifically, so treat the hostname as less certain than the address.

What is the default username and password for the Vodafone Ultra Hub?

Unique password on the device label

There is no default password for the Vodafone Ultra Hub that we could publish, because every unit has a different one.

Where to find yours. On the bottom of the router, and Vodafone also refers to the bottom or back on its factory-reset page.

Vodafone prints a per-device password on the unit and then forces you to change it: it states that the first time you log in you will be asked to reset or change the password. So there is no shared default to publish, and after your first login the printed value is no longer live until you factory reset. Vodafone says plainly that the router password is different from the Wi-Fi password. No admin username is documented — the login is password-only.

If a website offers you a single password that works on every Vodafone Ultra Hub, it is wrong. Those lists copy a per-device password from one unit and republish it as though it were universal.

What do the lights on the Vodafone Ultra Hub mean?

The Ultra Hub has five separate indicators — a large front light plus Wi-Fi, internet, phone and mobile — and Vodafone documents each separately. The mobile light only ever lights if you have the 4G backup dongle.

How do you reset a Vodafone Ultra Hub?

What you lose. Resets every custom setting including your Wi-Fi name and password, so you will need the printed default from the bottom of the router to get devices back online.

  1. Insert a pin into the reset hole at the back — on the Ultra Hub it sits above the power port — and push until you hear a click.
  2. Hold it for 10 seconds.
  3. Release, and give the unit a few minutes to restart before trying to connect.

Vodafone documents the click as the confirmation you have engaged the recessed button, and says the front lights turn white when the reset has finished. Wait five seconds for the restart.

A reboot is not a reset. A power cycle keeps your settings and takes the hub through its usual startup sequence. The front light should end up solid white with the internet light green.

What if you cannot get into the Vodafone Ultra Hub at all?

A lost password cannot be recovered on this model. There is no backdoor, no master password and no way for the manufacturer to retrieve it.

Vodafone is unambiguous: if you changed the admin password and cannot remember it, you have to reset the router to factory settings. There is no override.

That leaves two options, in this order: find whoever set the unit up and ask them, or factory reset it and rebuild the configuration from scratch. Restoring a configuration backup does not help, because the backup contains the same password you do not know.
