Sky Broadband Hub — login, gateway address and status lights
Open a browser on a device connected to your Sky Broadband Hub and go to 192.168.0.1.
The password is unique to your unit and printed on it — there is no universal default.
The Sky Broadband Hub is a broadband hub supplied by an internet provider from Sky, in UK use 2019-present. This page covers the four things people actually come looking for: its settings address, how its login works, what its lights mean and how to reset it safely.
What is the Sky Broadband Hub gateway address?
The Sky Broadband Hub settings page is at 192.168.0.1. Type that into the address bar of a browser — not into a search box, which will just search for the number instead of opening the page.
Your device has to be connected to the Sky Broadband Hub itself for this to work — over its Wi-Fi or by cable. On mobile data, or connected to a different network, the address goes nowhere.
What is the default username and password for the Sky Broadband Hub?
Unique password on the device label
There is no default password for the Sky Broadband Hub that we could publish, because every unit has a different one.
The username is the same on every unit:
- Username
admin
Where to find yours. The Wi-Fi password printed on the rear of the hub, or on the Connect card supplied with it.
The username is the shared default admin, but the password is the Wi-Fi key printed on your specific hub, so there is no password value we can publish. Importantly this is the ORIGINAL printed key: if you later changed your Wi-Fi password through the hub settings, the admin login still uses the printed one.
If a website offers you a single password that works on every Sky Broadband Hub, it is wrong. Those lists copy a per-device password from one unit and republish it as though it were universal.
What do the lights on the Sky Broadband Hub mean?
Here is what each light on the Sky Broadband Hub is telling you, and what to do about it.
| Light | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| WPSflashing amber | WPS pairing is running after you pressed and held the WPS button. | Activate WPS on the device you are connecting. |
| WPSsolid green | WPS pairing succeeded. | Nothing to do. |
Only the WPS light states are confirmed from Sky's setup guide. The main status light table for this hub is not yet verified, so it is deliberately omitted rather than guessed.
How do you reset a Sky Broadband Hub?
What you lose. Restores factory settings, returning the Wi-Fi name and password to the printed defaults. Every connected device must be reconnected.
- Press and hold the reset button on the back of the hub.
- Hold it for 10 seconds.
- Release, and give the unit a few minutes to restart before trying to connect.
Sky's own community help documents a ten-second hold until the power light flashes.
A reboot is not a reset. Unplug the hub, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. A reboot keeps all your settings; a reset does not.
What if you cannot get into the Sky Broadband Hub at all?
The printed Wi-Fi key on the hub is also the admin password, so as long as the label is readable you can always get back in without resetting.
If that does not work, a factory reset will always get you in, at the cost of every setting on the unit.
