Sky Hub — login, gateway address and status lights
Open a browser on a device connected to your Sky Hub and go to 192.168.0.1.
The documented default login is admin with the password sky.
The Sky Hub is a broadband hub supplied by an internet provider from Sky, in UK use 2012-2019. This page covers the four things people actually come looking for: its settings address, how its login works, what its lights mean and how to reset it safely.
What is the Sky Hub gateway address?
The Sky Hub settings page is at 192.168.0.1. Type that into the address bar of a browser — not into a search box, which will just search for the number instead of opening the page.
Your device has to be connected to the Sky Hub itself for this to work — over its Wi-Fi or by cable. On mobile data, or connected to a different network, the address goes nowhere.
What is the default username and password for the Sky Hub?
Documented fixed default
The manufacturer publishes a single default login for the Sky Hub, so we can show it:
- Username
admin- Password
sky
The older flat black Sky Hub uses a genuine shared default. If it has been changed and you do not know the new one, a factory reset puts it back to admin and sky.
This only works if nobody has changed it. On a unit that has been in service for a while, someone should have, and if they did then no published default will help you.
What do the lights on the Sky Hub mean?
Not yet verified against Sky documentation.
How do you reset a Sky Hub?
What you lose. Removes every change you have made and returns the admin login to admin and sky.
- Press and hold the reset button on the back of the hub until the power light flashes.
- Hold it for 10 seconds.
- Release, and give the unit a few minutes to restart before trying to connect.
A reboot is not a reset. Unplug, wait 30 seconds, plug back in. Settings are kept.
What if you cannot get into the Sky Hub at all?
A factory reset restores the documented default login.
If that does not work, a factory reset will always get you in, at the cost of every setting on the unit.
