Which Galaxy S26 suits which role
Samsung sells three S26 models plus the cheaper S26 FE, and the differences matter more for a fleet than they do for a consumer. The Galaxy S26 is the one-hand phone: 6.3 inches, 167 g, a 4,300 mAh battery that Samsung rates at up to 30 hours of video playback, and the same 50MP main camera and 3x telephoto as the S26+. For office staff, sales teams, drivers and anyone who mainly calls, messages, uses Teams and photographs the odd document, it does everything the dearer models do at £220 less than the S26+ and £400 less than the Ultra.
The Galaxy S26+ is the same phone with a 6.7-inch QHD+ screen, a 4,900 mAh battery, faster 45W charging and Bluetooth 6.0, at 190 g. It suits people who read plans, dashboards and spreadsheets on the handset but do not need the Ultra’s camera or pen. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is a different class of device: a 6.9-inch screen, Samsung’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip rather than the Exynos 2600 in the other two, a built-in S Pen, a 200MP main camera with 3x and 5x optical zoom, a 5,000 mAh battery and, new this year, a built-in Privacy Display that limits what people beside the user can see on the screen. Buy it for surveyors, site managers, estate agents, clinicians and executives who annotate documents, photograph sites or work with confidential material in public.

The Galaxy S26 FE (from £699 for 128GB, Exynos 2500, 6.7-inch FHD+ display) is the value option where a current-generation Samsung is wanted for a low-demand role; Three Business ranges it at £45 a month. All four models shipped with Android 16 and One UI 8.5, carry an IP68 rating, support nano-SIM plus eSIM (including dual eSIM), and are covered by Samsung’s seven-year security update commitment, which runs to 28 February 2033 on the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. That outlasts two consecutive 36-month contracts, which is the single strongest business argument for the range.

Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed programme added the S26 series on 9 September 2026 at £739 (S26 256GB), £929 (S26+ 256GB) and £1,079 (S26 Ultra 256GB), roughly 15% below RRP, unlocked, with the same two-year warranty as new stock and subject to availability; it is worth knowing if you buy outright and do not need a sealed box.

Three things stand out. First, Vodafone’s handset totals sit either side of RRP: the S26 comes to £678.33 ex-VAT against an ex-VAT RRP of £732.50, so the 36-month plan is £54 cheaper than buying outright while its £144 promotion lasts, whereas the S26+ (£993.33 against £915.83) and the S26 Ultra (£1,151.67 against £1,065.83) cost £78 and £86 more than RRP over the term. Second, the term structure: Vodafone’s 36-month phone plan runs a year longer than its 24-month airtime plan, so plan the handset refresh at 36 months or budget for an early-upgrade fee. Third, both networks now publish their annual increases in pounds and pence, as Ofcom’s rules require for small-business contracts, so the year-one figure is not the average figure. Connection Technologies quotes are bespoke, state the total cost over the term, and normally come in below the list prices above.
SIM-only vs contract for an S26 fleet
At £732.50 ex-VAT for a Galaxy S26, buying outright and pairing it with a business SIM-only plan is worth modelling for any fleet with cash available: you claim the full handset cost through the Annual Investment Allowance in year one, keep the freedom to move networks on a 12-month SIM term, and avoid paying above RRP on a bundled handset plan. The bundled route wins when cash flow matters more than total cost, when you want one bill and one supplier for handset, airtime and support, or when a network is running a genuine subsidy, as Vodafone’s S26 pricing was on the retrieval date. Tax treatment
An S26 bought through the business is a normal business asset. VAT-registered businesses reclaim the 20% VAT on the handset and the airtime, with an apportionment if private use is significant. A limited company deducts the monthly cost against corporation tax and claims an outright handset purchase through the Annual Investment Allowance; one company phone per employee, contract in the company name, carries no benefit-in-kind charge. Knox, Intune and eSIM set-up
Every S26 ships with Knox Vault, a separate secure processor and memory for credentials and biometrics, and Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection, which encrypts each app’s data separately. For a fleet, ask your supplier to register the devices to your Knox Mobile Enrollment account at the point of order; they then enrol into Microsoft Intune, Knox Manage or any Android Enterprise MDM the first time they connect to Wi-Fi, with no user set-up. Knox Suite adds Knox Manage, Knox Platform for Enterprise and Knox Asset Intelligence for battery and usage reporting. Galaxy S26 vs S25: is the upgrade worth it?
If your fleet is on the S25 series, the case for moving early is thin. The S25 remains a current Samsung device, is still ranged by Three Business, and keeps receiving updates. The S26’s gains are incremental for most roles: a slimmer body, brighter displays, the Exynos 2600 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the Ultra’s Privacy Display and brighter f/1.4 main camera, and a further year of update runway. The stronger reason to buy the S26 is timing: a device bought now on a 36-month term is supported to February 2033, whereas an S25 bought today runs out of security updates in early 2032, before a second term would end. Galaxy S26 Ultra vs iPhone 18 Pro for business
The iPhone 18 Pro (£1,199) is the natural comparison for the S26 Ultra. The Samsung wins on pen input, desktop mode, zoom range and the Privacy Display, and suits Windows-centric teams already using Intune. The iPhone wins on size (6.3 inches against 6.9), on resale value at the two-year point and on fit for Mac and iPad-based businesses.
