Why the iPhone 18 Pro suits business
The 18 Pro is the smaller of the two 2026 Pro phones and, for most businesses, the one to standardise on. It is a one-hand device (150.0 × 71.9 × 8.75 mm, 211 g) with the same A20 Pro chip and camera system as the Pro Max, so field staff, drivers, engineers and managers get flagship performance without the weight or the £100 premium. Apple rates it at up to 23 hours of typical use and 34 hours of video playback, and it charges to 50% in around 15 minutes with a 60W adapter, which matters more on a van dashboard than any camera feature.
Three business-relevant changes over the 17 Pro: the A20 Pro sits in a vapour-chamber chassis, so sustained workloads (video calls, navigation and a CRM open at once) run without throttling; the 48MP main camera gains a variable aperture, which helps low-light site and document photos; and the display reaches 3,000 nits outdoors, so it stays readable on site in direct sun. The UK model keeps a nano-SIM tray alongside eSIM and supports two active eSIMs, so a work and personal line can share one handset.

The iPhone 18 Pro business contract landscape

Two things to check on any 18 Pro quote. First, the term structure: Vodafone’s 48-month handset plan lowers the monthly figure but ties the device for four years, twice the life most businesses plan for a Pro. Second, the annual increase: both Vodafone and Three build April rises into the contract, so the year-one price is not the average price. Connection Technologies quotes are bespoke, state the total cost over the term, and are normally below the list prices above.
SIM-only vs contract for an 18 Pro fleet
At £999.17 ex-VAT per handset, buying outright and pairing with a business SIM-only plan is worth modelling for any fleet with cash available: you claim the full handset cost through capital allowances in year one, keep the freedom to move networks on a 12-month SIM term, and avoid financing charges buried in a bundle. A bundled contract wins when cash flow matters more than total cost, when you want one bill and one supplier for handset, airtime and support, or when a network is offering a genuine launch subsidy. For five or more devices we usually quote both routes side by side.
Tax treatment
An 18 Pro bought through the business is a normal business asset. VAT-registered businesses reclaim the 20% VAT on the handset and the airtime, with an apportionment if private use is significant. A limited company deducts the monthly cost against corporation tax and claims an outright handset purchase through the Annual Investment Allowance; one company phone per employee, contract in the company name, carries no benefit-in-kind charge. Apple Business, MDM and eSIM set-up
Apple retired Apple Business (formerly Apple Business Manager) on 14 April 2026 and replaced it with the free Apple Business platform, which combines device enrolment, a built-in MDM, Blueprints for zero-touch configuration, Managed Apple Accounts and business email and directory tools. Ask your supplier to assign new 18 Pros to your Apple Business account at the point of order; they then enrol into Apple Business or your existing MDM (Intune, Jamf, Mosyle) the first time they connect to Wi-Fi. If you are moving lines to eSIM, ask the network whether it supports eSIM Carrier Activation, which lets the MDM install the eSIM during enrolment, and lock the AllowESIMModification restriction so users cannot remove the work line. iPhone 18 Pro vs Galaxy S26 Ultra for business
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is the obvious Android alternative at this price. It brings a built-in S Pen, Samsung DeX desktop mode and Knox management, and suits Windows-centric teams and anyone who annotates documents by hand. Frequently asked questions
Apple UK RRP is £1,199 (256GB), £1,399 (512GB), £1,799 (1TB) and £2,399 (2TB), including VAT, retrieved 22 September 2026. Business contract pricing depends on network, term and data; Vodafone Business lists the handset at £21.80 a month over 48 months plus £33.33 upfront, ex-VAT.
Pre-orders opened on 12 September and the phone has been on general sale since 18 September 2026, so you order rather than pre-order. Business stock is constrained: Vodafone Business quoted a 2 to 3 week wait on 22 September, so place orders ahead of any rollout date.
It depends on handset, term and data. For the 18 Pro, public ex-VAT list prices on 22 September 2026 were £57.63 a month plus £33.33 upfront at Vodafone Business and £69 a month at Three Business, both with unlimited data. Reseller quotes are normally lower; VAT is reclaimable.
There is no standard iPhone 18 yet; it is reported for spring 2027. Current business offers cover the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, with introductory pricing at Three Business and trade-in credits at Vodafone Business and EE. Our iPhone business contracts hub tracks them monthly.
Not at small volumes. Apple’s business team sells at RRP with volume terms only for large orders. The saving for UK SMEs comes from ex-VAT business tariffs, VAT recovery, trade-in credits and reseller negotiation across the networks.
