iD’s instruction on the blanks is explicit: any field marked should be left empty. Take that literally. Where a field is shown above as not published, leave it at whatever your phone defaults to.
iPhone: Reset Rather Than Edit
iD is unambiguous that Apple devices configure APN settings automatically and cannot be edited manually. So on an iPhone there is nothing to type, and the correct fix for dead mobile data is to force the configuration to refresh:
- Open Settings > General.
- Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset.
- Choose Reset Network Settings and confirm.
This clears saved Wi-Fi networks along with the mobile configuration, so have your Wi-Fi passwords to hand. If the Mobile Data Network menu is visible on your iPhone but shows another network’s APN, that is a leftover profile from a previous SIM, and the reset is what clears it.
Entering iD Mobile APN Settings on Android
On a Samsung Galaxy, go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names, add a profile, enter the values above, save from the three-dot menu, then select the radio button beside the new iD entry. On other Android phones the path is Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs, pick the iD SIM, then Access Point Names and the plus icon.

If iD Mobile Data Still Will Not Work
On iPhone, reset the network settings as above rather than looking for fields to change. On Android, check the APN really is the bare id — autocorrect and habit both tend to expand it to id.co.uk or idmobile — then confirm the profile is selected and restart. iD names Three as its network partner, and since mid-2025 iD handsets in upgraded areas can use both the Three and Vodafone radio networks following the VodafoneThree merger, while still showing iD Mobile as the operator.
