O2 APN Settings

Quick Answer

The O2 APN is mobile.o2.co.uk (pay monthly) or payandgo.o2.co.uk (PAYG). Enter this in Settings → Mobile Data → APN to fix data and MMS issues.

O2 APN Settings (2026)

If your O2 mobile data or MMS has stopped working, incorrect APN settings are the most common cause. This typically happens after a factory reset, SIM swap, phone upgrade, or switching to O2 from another network. Below are the correct O2 APN settings for both pay monthly and pay-as-you-go customers.

The only difference between pay monthly and PAYG is the APN value itself. All other fields are identical.

When Do You Need to Change O2 APN Settings?

O2 normally pushes APN settings to your phone automatically when you insert a SIM. But manual configuration is needed in these situations:

  • After a factory reset — the auto-configuration may not re-apply.
  • New or replacement SIM — especially if you've switched to O2 from EE, Vodafone, or Three.
  • Unlocked or imported phone — devices not sold by O2 may not receive the carrier profile.
  • After a major OS update — Android and iOS updates can occasionally wipe APN profiles.
  • Switched between pay monthly and PAYG — the APN value is different for each plan type.
  • MMS not sending — picture messages need the MMSC and proxy fields set correctly.

How to Enter O2 APN Settings on Android

  1. Open Settings on your Android phone.
  2. Tap Connections (Samsung) or Network & Internet (Pixel/stock Android).
  3. Tap Mobile Networks.
  4. Tap Access Point Names.
  5. Tap the + icon to add a new APN.
  6. Enter the O2 settings from the table above. Use mobile.o2.co.uk for pay monthly or payandgo.o2.co.uk for PAYG.
  7. Tap the three-dot menu and select Save.
  8. Select the new O2 Internet APN from the list.
  9. Restart your phone to apply the changes.

How to Enter O2 APN Settings on iPhone

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Mobile Data (or Cellular).
  3. Tap Mobile Data Network.
  4. Under Mobile Data, enter:
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk (or payandgo.o2.co.uk for PAYG)
    Username: o2web
    Password: password
  5. Scroll down to MMS and enter:
    MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
    MMS Proxy: 82.132.254.1:8080
  6. Go back — settings save automatically on iPhone.
  7. Toggle Airplane Mode on and off, or restart your phone.

Note: If you cannot see Mobile Data Network in your iPhone settings, O2 may manage your APN automatically. Go to Settings > General > About to check for a carrier settings update.

O2 APN Settings Not Working? Try These Fixes

If you've entered the correct settings and still can't get online, work through these steps:

  1. Restart your phone — this forces the device to re-register on the O2 network with the new APN.
  2. Toggle Airplane Mode — turn it on, wait 10 seconds, then turn it off.
  3. Check you're using the right APN — pay monthly uses mobile.o2.co.uk and PAYG uses payandgo.o2.co.uk. Using the wrong one will prevent data from connecting.
  4. Delete duplicate APN profiles — multiple O2 entries can cause conflicts. Keep only the one with the correct settings.
  5. Reset network settings — on Android: Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset Network Settings. On iPhone: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
  6. Check your data allowance — text DATA to 21300 or use the My O2 app to confirm your plan is active.
  7. Re-seat the SIM card — power off, remove the SIM, wait 30 seconds, reinsert and power on.
  8. Contact O2 support — call 202 from your O2 phone or 0344 809 0202 from another line.

O2 Business SIM APN Settings

O2 business customers generally use the same APN settings as consumer accounts. However, some O2 enterprise and managed plans use dedicated APNs:

  • O2 Business standard — use mobile.o2.co.uk (same as consumer pay monthly).
  • O2 Corporate / Managed — your IT department may provide a custom APN for routing through a corporate VPN or gateway.
  • If you manage a fleet of business devices, MDM (Mobile Device Management) can push APN settings to all handsets automatically.
