Using Your PAC Code
Once you have your PAC code, using it is straightforward. Give the 9-character code to your new mobile provider when you sign up or order a new SIM. They will handle the rest.
Step-by-Step Process
- Get your PAC code — text PAC to 65075 from your current mobile.
- Order your new SIM or contract — when signing up with your new provider, there will be an option to port your existing number.
- Enter the PAC code — provide it online during checkout, over the phone, or in-store.
- Wait for the transfer — your number will move to your new SIM within 1 working day. You will receive a confirmation text.
- Insert your new SIM — once the port completes, your old SIM stops working and your number is active on the new one.
What Happens During the Port
There is a brief switchover period (usually a few hours) where your old SIM stops receiving calls and your new SIM activates. This typically happens during business hours on the porting day. You may experience a short gap in service of up to a few minutes.
